Classroom Information
|
School Hours: 8:32-3:14
BOOK BAGS: Your child will need to have a book bag to bring things back and forth between school and home. It is important that you check your child’s book bag each day so that you can get any information that I might send home. No toys or weapons are permitted from home.
BREAKFAST: Kindergarten children may eat breakfast here at school, but are not required to do so. It is important that children eat a good breakfast each day. If your child cannot eat at home in the morning please let us know so that we can make arrangements for them to eat here.
LUNCH: Lunch- 11:15- 11:45 Your child will be eating lunch in the cafeteria. There are no microwaves so please do not send in any food that needs to be heated up.
ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL: Children will not be permitted in the classroom before the morning bell at 8:20. There is no supervision for them outside of the building prior to school starting so it is important that they do not arrive before their assigned time. Thank you for your cooperation. This is for your child’s safety. Children who either walk, or who are brought to school in a car, should enter through the front door. I encourage parents to let the children walk to the classroom by themselves after the first day. A CHILD MUST HAVE WRITTEN PERMISSION TO GO HOME ANY OTHER WAY THEN HIS OR HER USUAL DISMISSAL PROCEDURES. PLEASE PIN THE NOTE ON THE CHILD’S JACKET OR SHIRT SO THAT I WILL BE SURE TO SEE IT.
ILLNESS: Students are expected to attend school everyday unless illness occurs or a family emergency arises. Attendance and tardiness is marked daily. Upon the student’s return to school, A NOTE IS REQUIRED STATING THE REASON FOR THE ABSENCE.
HOW TO DRESS: Please dress children appropriately for kindergarten activities and for the weather. Play clothes and shorts are fine for the hot weather at the beginning of school. Please do not send your child in clogs, flip-flops, shoes with high heels etc… We will be going to the playground daily and the children need to be able to run and play. BE SURE TO PUT YOUR CHILD’S NAME ON ALL JACKETS, BOOKBAGS, BOOTS AND OTHER BELONGINGS.
CALENDARS: Please hang the monthly calendars that come home on your refrigerator and encourage your child to mark off each day. Talk to them about the days of the week, the date, the month and the season.
BIRTHDAYS: If you wish to celebrate your child’s birthday in school, please send a small treat, enough for each student in the class. Please let me know in advance and I will let you know how many students are in the classroom.
I look forward to a great year!!!!
Sincerely; Mrs. Palsgrove
