CLASS RULES/CONSEQUENCES- The goal of kindergarten discipline is the teaching of expected school behaviors and the development of a strong social conscience. Kindergarten students typically want to please others, which is why we stress using good manners (being cooperative, sharing and responsible) and using appropriate conflict strategies. From the start of school, expectations are clearly defined. The months of August and September are carefully mapped out with introduction of routines and guidelines for the use of materials and centers. Reinforcing praise compliments positive behaviors often during these early days. |
