Course description: This class is designed to be a fun learning experience. You will be introduced to basic Spanish vocabulary. In addition, we will discuss the geography, cultures and customs of places where Spanish is spoken. To make class more enjoyable, we will use a variety of learning techniques including both individual and group activities.
Classroom Rules:
- Students must bring a pen or pencil to class every day.
- No throwing anything.
- Please, no eating or drinking.
- Upon entering the room, take your assigned seat immediately in an orderly manner.
- Students to be seated from the beginning through the end of class.
- No fighting of any kind.
- Keep your hands to yourself.
- No talking unless you raise your hand or called upon.
- Yelling and swearing are not acceptable
- No writing on desks or destruction of other school property
Consequences: If you follow the rules, we will be able to enjoy games, which review the information you have learned. If you choose to break the rules, the following consequences will result:
- 1 Check - Referral form started for your file
- 2 Check – Send to Time-out (except late – detention after 3 lates)
- 3 Check – Referral form turned into the office, detention given and phone call home.
- 4 Check – Referral form turned into the office, detention given and phone call home.
- 5 Check – Referral form turned into office, detention given and conference with parent.

- 25% Weekly Assignments
- Students may receive extra credit towards quiz grade average for oral class participation.
Student Responsibilities:
To do well in my class:
- Be Prepared at the start of class
- Arrive on time (you are late when I shut my door)
- Be in your seat with your Spanish notebook, folder, and pencil/pen.
- Take good notes and participate in classroom activities.
- Absentee Policy: It is your responsibility to obtain and make up all missed work. You will have one week to make up assignments and tests upon returning to class.
- Late Assignments: Will be accepted, however, two points will be deducted for every day work is late.
- Missed Assignments, Quizzes and Tests will result in a failing score of 60.
