For the next 9 weeks you will be coming to the computer lab every other day for seventy minutes. During this time you will have the opportunity to increase your knowledge of computer hardware and software. You will learn to use word processing, spreadsheets, and data based programs. You will become familiar with desktop publishing and Power Point presentation. You will learn keyboarding. You will use the Internet to explore and research.

Each day, we will learn a new aspect of computer technology. You will be asked to practice keyboarding using the software program Mavis Beacon. You will be expected to complete and finish assignments using Microsoft Word and Power Point. Finally, we will explore the Internet and learn appropriate ways to gather information on the World Wide Web.

ONLY STUDENTS WITH SIGNED COLONIAL INTERNET AUTHORIZATION FORMS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN INTERNET RELATED ACTIVITIES.

Your grade will be determined by your efforts in class:

50% of your grade is based on completion of class work and video units.
40% of your grade is determined by satisfactory completion of quiz's and tests.
10% of your grade is based on keyboarding effort and success.
