*Are you planning on participating in sports at Gunning Bedford for the 2008-2009 school year? In order to try out for any of the athletic teams at Gunning Bedford, including cheerleading, a student MUST have had a physical examination, taken ON or AFTER MAY 1, 2008. Physicals may be administered by your family physician or by First State Orthopedics who will be here after school on Thursday, August 28th, 2008 for an at-cost fee of $22.00. Please make checks payable to First State Orthopedics. Either way, the information MUST be recorded on the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Physical Examination Form. Parents MUST complete and sign the DIAA form BEFORE students get their physicals. There are six places on the DIAA form for a parent/guardian signature. Forms with any missing information or signatures may result in your child not being able to participate in his or her desired sport. This will be the ONLY opportunity for an in-school physical. After school activity buses will be provided to take students home at approximately 5:30 pm. Forms can be obtained at the Open House, in any of the offices at Gunning Bedford, or from our website.
