Mission, Policies and Procedures
- Mission Statement
The mission of the McCullough Middle School library is to provide
an environment that is conducive to helping students and staff meet
their educational, informational, and recreational needs in a safe,
comfortable, and inviting setting. The library staff aims to provide
up-to-date and relevant print and non-print materials as well as computer
programs and other services that are essential for student academic
achievement and life-long learning.
- Acceptable Use Policy
Colonial School District requires all students to have an acceptable
use policy on file before using school computers. The AUP is signed
by parent/guardian and the student indicating that the student will
adhere to the rules. Misuse could result in the loss of computer privileges
for all or part of the school year. Forms may be downloaded
or may be obtained from the the computer teacher or librarian.
Students are scheduled to visit the library/Media Center every other week
with their Language Arts teachers. Students may also visit the library for
research, book exchange, computer use, or browsing during the school day with
a pass from any member of the staff.
Students are not charged for late books but may not check out a new book
until the late book has been returned. Students must pay the replacement value
of lost books.
