Attendance is directly linked to academic performance in school. Each day, our students are exposed to new materials and activities. It is critical that our students are in school every day. However, the faculty and staff at WPHS recognize that our students do get sick, have family emergencies, and other issues that need to be addressed during school hours.
When a student misses school, it is important to bring in an excuse note with the reason for absences, a parent/guardian signature, and a contact phone number for verification and clarification when needed.
Additionally, students who participate in extracurricular activities, such as athletics or clubs, must be in school by 11:00 am to participate in that day's activities. For more information regarding that policy, please speak to your coach or advisor.
