We began the process by discovering that our current school pages were static and could not handle the type of data we wanted to collect. Therefore, we researched different Web Hosting sites on the Web. Although there were some excellent companies out there, the one we chose to go with was extremely inexpensive. We found a site for $5.00 per month and they seemed to provide more space than the other companies out there. The company is myvaluehost, which provides us with 1GB and 500 free emails. Our address is www.readwalkwilliampenn.com , although we have not been able to test on the server since the FTP information was not allowing us to connect.
More specifically, we created buttons and graphics to add to our page using SudioMX tutorials from the book. In addition, we video taped students walking/running the track and taped students as they read in a classroom at William Penn.
We are uncertain about how all this will come together since we've never seen a data driven administrator page, but on October 24 th , Dr. H. will take us through the process step – by – step. Maybe learning to walk won't be so hard after all.
