Initiatives

  1. Currently working on selecting William Penn’s athlete / fan of the season. Names will be selected at the end of the 2004-2005 school year.

  2. Currently working on letters of appreciation from our athletes and students to Ms. Fleetwood for all she’s done for William Penn Sportsmanship over the last 7 years.

  3. The Sportsmanship Committee has planned a trip for the coaches to the middle schools to inform our middle school students about our teams and our tradition of excellence in sportsmanship.

  4. The Sportsmanship Committee will take recommendations for leadership core of students for the 2005- 2006 school year.

  5. The Sportsmanship committee set-up a sportsmanship“Booth” at the October 28, 2004 Open House.

  6. Once again, in order to help improve DSTP scores, and to raise awareness about good sportsmanship a school wide writing prompt centered on sportsmanship was given on February 24, 2005.

  7. The sportsmanship committee organized a student and teacher volleyball team to raise money for Easter Seals project and raised between $600 - $700 for the cause. The team competed at the University of Delaware on March 11, 2005.

  8. To raise money and awareness about sportsmanship the committee once again ran the Faculty Hoops Event on March 18, 2005.

  9. This web site was created from, January 2005 – May 2005, from Lori Minka to present to the sportsmanship committee to help with the sportsmanship initiative in 2004-2005 and beyond.
