Title: “ The True Victory” by Emily Phillips
Five seconds left
Down by one,
Got to make it… Got to make it
Then were done
4…3…2…
Time runs out
We try our best
And think of how much we fought
Out of time
We lost the game
Our hopes, our dreams,
And our possible shot at fame
Even though we lost
It still feels like we have won
Because we show respect to everyone
Honesty, compassion, kindness
That is all we need to know
So even though the scoreboard shows we lost,
Our spirits of sportsmanship shows
Title: Colonials, Colonials by Paulette Wilson
Think about the way the players play we are out on the field doing it our way.
Fans in the stands clapping and cheering coaches on the sides, this is all you are hearing.
Respect, honor, value the game.
Just make sure that no ones calls out their name.
Now it’s back to the game.
Colonial colonials, William Penn Colonials.
Is the song of the day?
We are going to do it our way
Today is the day.
We became state champs
Seventh straight year now, whom do you fear?
Colonials colonials, William Penn Colonials.
Title: Future Colonials by Robin Murphy
With Honor and pride I will do my best
Make my players, coaches, family and friends proud.
I will respect the umpires and refs even if I don’t agree with them.
I’ll encourage my teammates and fans to do the same.
I will win as a team and lose as a team. For we are a proud colonial team.
If we play hard and give it our best no ref or umpire can take that away.
We will ignore those who don’t always see it our way.
We will encourage those who need it.
We will Praise those who do it.
We will pass sportsmanship on to those younger fans because with greatness comes responsibility. We are responsible for our younger fans because they are the future Colonials.
Title: Honor by Thomas Dews
Let me give you a lot of knowledge in the ways that we ball.
William Penn Colonials stand firm and don’t fall.
Even in the midst of defeat we find victory in that we gave it our all.
Coaches, Players, and fans give a lot of respect,
And sometimes you half to give it first to receive it back.
Good sportsmanship in the mean for the cherry and the black.
In any sports we play we are so difficult.
Peep the logo we are soldiers and we are coming to get you.
Colonials have the bravest like to roam.
Seeing new faces everyday because we’re about a mile long.
Different races we are the kings.
There is no replacing the words that spell team.
This is W.P. and we’re going to make it that clear.
Not to maintain we’re stale champs for seven straight years.
