As a teacher at William Penn High School, I am committed to the pursuit of professionalism manifested in the roles of educating students and of pursuing personal professional growth. First, I am committed to making students my first priority and the center of my focus. I pledge to raise the level of my professionalism by making quality decisions and by modeling the highest standards of behavior. The manifestation of this commitment will be revealed not only in overcoming challenges in the classroom, but in relationships with administrators, colleagues, parents, and the community. Second, I am committed to investing in my own personal professional growth. I confirm that the concept of lifelong learning is pivotal to success in the field of education. I commit to renewing daily my desire to demonstrate dedication and perseverance in the face of successes and failures. In essence, in order for us to mold exemplary adults, we must first be exemplary teachers.
